Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how FAQHub (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by Cloud Tech Solution, collects, uses, and protects information when you install or use the FAQHub application for Shopify (“the App”) or when your customers interact with FAQ features on your storefront.

1. Who this policy applies to

  • Merchants — Shopify store owners and staff who install and configure FAQHub in the Shopify admin.
  • Store visitors — people who view FAQs or submit questions through the FAQHub theme app block or app proxy on a merchant’s store.

2. Information we collect

Merchant and app data — When you install FAQHub, we receive and store data necessary to operate the App, including:

  • Shop domain and Shopify session identifiers (OAuth)
  • Staff profile fields provided by Shopify during authentication (such as name and email, when available)
  • FAQ content you create (questions, answers, groups, product and collection mappings, visibility and order)
  • App settings (storefront design, notification preferences, optional shop contact email)
  • Optional email delivery settings you configure (provider choice, from address, and credentials encrypted at rest)

Customer submission data — If a merchant enables “Ask a question”, we may collect:

  • Name and email address (if the visitor provides them)
  • Question text and related product context
  • Submission status and merchant review notes

We do not intentionally collect payment card numbers or Shopify customer account passwords through FAQHub.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App and storefront FAQ features
  • Display approved FAQs on your online store via the theme block
  • Route and moderate customer questions in the merchant admin
  • Send transactional emails you enable (for example, new submission alerts to merchants or status updates to customers)
  • Secure the App, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations

4. Where data is stored and processed

App data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by our infrastructure providers (for example, Neon). The App is served from our application hosting (for example, Fly.io) at faqhub.cloudtechsolution.co. Shopify continues to process store and checkout data under Shopify’s own policies when customers shop on your store.

5. Third-party services

Depending on merchant configuration, data may be processed by:

  • Shopify — app platform, APIs, metafields, and app proxy
  • Email providers — Resend, SendGrid, Brevo, or SMTP you configure in Settings (or platform defaults we operate)

We do not sell personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the App, with your instructions (such as sending an email), or when required by law.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, access controls, and encryption for sensitive merchant email credentials stored in our database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use strong passwords and limit staff access in Shopify.

7. Data retention

We retain merchant and FAQ data while the App is installed and for a reasonable period afterward to support uninstall cleanup, backups, and legal requirements. Customer submissions may be retained until deleted by the merchant or removed after uninstall, subject to operational backup cycles.

8. Uninstall and deletion

When you uninstall FAQHub, Shopify notifies us via the app/uninstalled webhook. About 48 hours later, Shopify sends a shop/redact request and we delete remaining shop data (FAQs, submissions, settings, sessions). Customer data requests and erasure use Shopify's customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks; we remove matching submission records.

Merchants are responsible for content published on their storefront and for responding to customer privacy requests related to data the merchant controls.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information. Merchants can manage much of their data inside the FAQHub admin. For other requests, contact us using the email below. Store visitors should contact the merchant’s store first; we can assist merchants upon request.

10. Children

FAQHub is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
